Sydling St Nicholas lies in a valley a mile off the main A37 Dorchester to Yeovil road.
The Greyhound is a centuries old coaching inn.
The Inn will be open from 9:15am with the walk planned to start from the Inn Car Park at 9:45am, returning at 12:30pm for a 13:00pm lunch. The walk is approx.5 miles long. The walk takes us through the pretty village with many thatched cottages and then onto the Wessex Ridge Way where there are excellent views of the valley and surrounding hills. There are no stiles, mainly kissing style gates. The route does involve a climb out of the village up onto the Ridge Way. The ramble consists of a mixture of lanes and public footpaths.
