Ray and Sue Baker are the organisers for the August ramble, this is a walk from the New Inn, Shipton Gorge to Hive Beach, Burton Bradstock then returning using public footpaths and country roads.
The route is approximately 4.5 miles, there are three stiles and some gates.
The route may be muddy and is hilly but not unmanageable, do not be concerned with the name Shipton Gorge, it’s not a Gorge. The village was named after the de Gorges family who owned the land hundreds of years ago.We are planning to allow sufficient time to grab a coffee or an ice cream at Hive Beach.
There is parking for eight cars at the pub so it would be best to car share
For those of us that are able to park away from the pub there is parking around the corner down in the village near the church.
We will meet from 9:30 am for a 10:00 am prompt start returning for lunch at 1:00 pmThe Menu £15
