Pitney Ramble

David Speed and Hugh Pearce are organising the July Ramble from Pitney to Huish Episcopi and back.
We will meet at 9:30am in the Car Park of the Halfway House at Pitney TA10 9AB which is on the B3153 between Somerton and Langport. Please park at the far end of the car park.
We do not need to order food in advance of the day. Please go into the pub on arrival and order. You can select from the menu or any specials the pub are serving on the day.
The walk will leave at 9:45am and head through the village of Pitney to the site of the Battle of Langport in 1645. We then proceed into Huish Episcopi crossing the railway line and onwards to Wearne. We then return to the pub through another part of Pitney. The walk is mostly on quiet roads.
The plan is to return by 12.00pm for lunch in the marque of the Halfway House at 12.30pm.
